Card tiers and insurance coverage

Your card tier—Standard, Essential, or Premium—determines your spending limits, foreign exchange (FX) fees, card material, and insurance coverage.

This article explains the benefits included with each tier and provides instructions for making a claim.

Card tier comparison

When you add a new virtual or physical card in your banking app, you're presented with the card tiers available to you. Once you select a card tier, the coverage and benefits apply automatically.

Billing 

Billing varies depending on your card tier and the specific terms of your contract. Fees may include:
  • Monthly fee: A subscription fee for your card tier. Check your insurance notice for the amount.

  • FX fees: Applied to non-euro transactions. See fees in the comparison table.

How to make a claim

Depending on your claim, you might need to contact Swan Support, use the insurance claims portal, or call our emergency assistance provider.
  • Report fraud to Swan 

    You must submit a fraud dispute within two business days, as stated in your insurance notices. Reporting quickly helps us prevent further fraudulent transactions.

  • File a claim through the portal

    • Use this for: Travel, medical, purchase protection, and all other claims.
    • Action
      1. Log in to the claims portal through your banking app using your account email address. 
      2. Set a password if you're using the portal for the first time.
      3. Upload the required documents directly to the portal.

  • Call emergency assistance (Premium only)

    • Use this for: 24/7 emergency travel, medical, repatriation, and legal assistance. 
    • Action: Call the emergency assistance phone number listed in your banking app.

After you submit your claim, follow up and track the progress of your claim directly through the portal. If it's approved, your account will be credited.
