There are various reasons why you might need to stop your card's use, such as loss, damage, fraud, or a significant card delivery delay. Blocking your card ensures that it can't be used without your approval.
Based on the situation, you have two choices for stopping your card: temporary or permanent blocking.
If you encounter fraud, refer to our article on how to file a dispute with Swan.
Temporarily blocking your card
You might temporarily block your card if you're investigating unauthorized transactions, or if you've misplaced it and aren't sure if it's lost for good. When you temporarily block your card, you can unblock it and use it again if you find the card later.
- Go to Web Banking > Cards.
- Select Physical card.
- Click Temporarily Block.
ℹ️ The virtual representation of your physical card will display the word Blocked, *depicted in the following image.
- When ready to use your physical card again, refer to the article about unblocking your card.
Permanently blocking your card
In cases of fraud, theft, or significant delays in card delivery, you can choose to permanently block your card. After you've permanently blocked your card, you can request a replacement.
- Go to Web Banking > Cards.
- Select Physical card.
- Click Permanently Block, which triggers a popup to appear.
- Select the reason for permanently blocking your card, then click Permanently block.
- Consent to permanently block your card on your mobile device.
ℹ️ The virtual representation of your physical card will display the words Permanently blocked, *depicted in the following image.
- To order a replacement card, click Order new card, which triggers a popup to appear.
- Verify or modify your shipping address, then click Validate.
Be cautious when adding your address, as it cannot be changed once validated.
- Consent to the new card order on your mobile device.
Your replacement card is now ordered. After you receive it, follow the instructions to activate your card before it can be used.
