Need help with UBO guidelines for a company registered in Belgium? We're here to show you how to find your company's UBO information and the documents you'll need.
UBO term
In Belgium, a UBO is called the "bénéficiaire effectif". For most Belgian companies, UBOs must be registered in the Belgian UBO register, it's a legal obligation.
Accessing UBO information
You can access this data on the official UBO register website, which is managed by the Federal Public Service Finance (Service Public Fédéral Finances).
UBO document requirements
Depending on your legal form, our Know Your Customer (KYC) team may request your UBO document. This document should include:
- The reasons for UBO status (ownership percentage, legal representative).
- The company's information: company name and company registration number.
If another company owns your company, you'll need to submit the official proof of registration document for the owning company, such as a BCE extract.
Approved UBO documents
If the KYC team can't access your UBO document, you'll need to submit a UBO register extract.
