Payment rails
Payment rails are like the networks that connect different parties involved in local or international financial transactions. Payment rails make sure funds can be sent and received quickly, regardless of currency or payment method.
Two common examples of payment rails are Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT):
- SEPA: enables smooth euro transfers within Europe
- SWIFT: a global network for international transactions
Currencies and rails
From your payment account, you can transfer various currencies worldwide, each with specific transfer options.
Outgoing allowed countries
You can send International Credit Transfers on local rails in local currencies.
You can also send International Credit Transfers on the SWIFT network, using the swift_code rail in United States Dollars USD, Euros EUR, or British Pounds Sterling GBP.
Any attempt to send a SWIFT transfer in a currency other than USD, EUR, and GBP is rejected.

You can send International Credit Transfers in the following currencies using the corresponding available rails. For example, the Japanese Yen JPY can only be sent on the japanese rail. Attempts to send currencies using rails not listed in this table are rejected.
