  • Updated

Sometimes you might need to change your name on your account for different reasons. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to ask for a name change.

Requesting a name change

To request a name change, the account member must submit a request to Swan Support, and provide the email address that is registered with Swan.

Verification process

Swan will verify the name change request by comparing it with the ID document you provided you provided when completing your identification.

If the new name matches the one on the ID document, your name will be changed, and you will be notified.

If the new name does not match the downloaded ID document, additional documents will be requested for verification purposes.

Submission of additional documents

In cases where additional verification is needed, the new ID document displaying the updated name may be required.

For specific cases, refer to the following table:

Situation Document Type
Marriage The new ID document with both the previous and new names or, the new ID document + the wedding page of the family record boo
Change of gender identity The new ID document + a document from either the Civil Registrar or a judge, confirming the gender identity change.
Common name The new ID document with both the previous and new names + the birth certificate declaring the name change.

Review of additional documents

After you submit the necessary documents, our team will review them for accuracy and authenticity. If the documents meet our criteria, your name will be updated accordingly.

Change request approval

If your request is approved, you will receive confirmation of the name change. The account member with account membership management rights will receive instructions to resolve any conflicts resulting from the change.

If your request is not approved, you will receive detailed information explaining why it was rejected.
