In Spain, a UBO can be called a "Beneficiario Real/Efectivos"1

Accessing UBO info

To find a UBO for a Spanish company, you can use the "Registradores"2 for UBO reports and "Ancert"3 for Proof of Registration (PoR) documents.

Approved UBO documents

If the KYC team can't access a document with your UBO data, you might need to provide your UBO reports and PoR documents:

  • UBO declaration: an official "Informe De Titularidad Real De Personas Jurídicas"4 .
  • Proof of registration: an official "Información Mercantil interactiva de los Registros Mercantiles de España"5.
  • Other official documents that show the company's ownership, such as: "Estatutos Sociales"6 (Articles of Association) and "Libro de Registro de Accionistas"7 (shareholder registers).

Informe de Titularidad Real de Personas Jurídicas

  1. Authenticated document issued by the "Consejo General del Notariado"8.
  2. Document title: your document indicates that it is a "Informe de Titularidad Real de Personas Jurídicas".
  3. Date: clearly visible date indicating when the declaration was made.
  4. Company identification details: tax identification number and the company name.
  5. UBO information: ownership date and details, the UBO’s name, personal identification number, place of residence, nationality and date of birth.

Estatutos Sociales

  1. Document title: your document indicates that it is an "Estatutos Sociales".
  2. Company details: the company's name and its legal framework.
  3. Company objectives: the main reasons the company is created or its primary activities.
